This year, "Comprehensive Geography," a compulsory geography subject for the first time in half a century, began in senior high schools. One of the major pillars of this comprehensive geography course is learning about natural disasters in the student's living area. In this excursion, starting from the Hokkaido Centennial Memorial Tower, we will walk around the area around JR Shinrin Koen Station, a typical residential area in the suburbs of Sapporo, and learn about the natural environment and regional development of the Nopporo Hills and the surrounding area. In the meantime, I would like to think about the lesson plan and its significance of "Natural environment and disaster prevention".
